Synopsis
Grâce au fossile du Pokémon légendaire Mew, la Team Rocket a créé le premier clone de Pokémon réussi. Nommé Mewtwo, le Pokémon artificiel s'irrite rapidement des circonstances de sa création et devient incontrôlable. Il est bientôt approché par Sakaki, le chef de la Team Rocket, qui le manipule pour commettre des actes maléfiques. Ressentant du dégoût face aux ruses de l'humanité et aux cruautés qu'il a subies, Mewtwo s'isole de tous et complote contre les humains tout en essayant de découvrir son véritable but dans la vie. Se faisant passer pour le plus fort dresseur de Pokémon du monde, Mewtwo attire les dresseurs les plus puissants de la région qui souhaitent affronter ce nouvel et mystérieux adversaire. Le destin du monde étant en jeu, les célèbres dresseurs Satoshi, Takeshi et Kasumi doivent combattre Mewtwo et le vaincre avant qu'il ne cause la chute de l'humanité.
Synopsis
« L'Origine de Mewtwo » n'était pas inclus dans la sortie au cinéma à l'origine, mais toutes les sorties ultérieures l'ont fait, donc cet enregistrement l'inclut également dans sa durée. Le film Pokémon 01 : Mewtwo contre-attaque a remporté le prix du long métrage lors des 3èmes Animation Kobe Awards en 1998. Chronologiquement, le film se déroule après l'épisode 67 de Pokémon.
