Synopsis
Shinichi Kudo, lycéen au talent prodigieux pour le travail de détective, est réputé pour avoir résolu plusieurs affaires complexes. Un jour, alors qu'il observe deux hommes suspects et décide de les suivre, il est involontairement témoin d'une activité illégale troublante. Malheureusement, il est pris sur le fait, et les hommes lui administrent un médicament expérimental formulé par leur organisation criminelle, le laissant pour mort. Cependant, à sa propre surprise, Shinichi survit, mais se retrouve dans le corps d'un enfant de sept ans. Conservant parfaitement son intelligence d'origine, il cache sa véritable identité à tout le monde, y compris à son amie d'enfance Ran Mouri et à son père, le détective privé Kogorou Mouri. À cette fin, il adopte l'alias de Conan Edogawa, inspiré par les écrivains de mystère Arthur Conan Doyle et Ranpo Edogawa. Shinichi, sous les traits de Conan, commence à résoudre secrètement les affaires du senior Mouri en coulisses grâce à ses exceptionnelles compétences d'enquêteur, tout en menant une enquête discrète sur l'organisation responsable de sa condition actuelle, dans l'espoir d'inverser un jour les effets du médicament.
