Synopsis
Nous sommes en l'an 0079 du Siècle Universel. L'humanité a migré dans l'espace, vivant dans des grappes de colonies connues sous le nom de "Sides". L'un de ces Sides se déclare "Principauté de Zeon" et déclare la guerre à la Fédération terrienne, le gouvernement qui dirige actuellement la Terre. Grâce à de puissants robots humanoïdes appelés "mobile suits", Zeon prend rapidement le dessus. Neuf mois après le début du conflit, la Fédération terrienne a développé son propre mobile suit surpuissant, le Gundam. Lorsque Zeon lance une attaque sur la colonie où se trouve le Gundam, un civil de 15 ans, Amuro Ray, se retrouve soudainement plongé dans un conflit qui le mènera sur toute la Terre et dans l'espace, l'opposant au pilote as ennemi, Char Aznable.

Lorsque Bandai acquit les droits de production des maquettes plastiques des mechas de la série, tout changea et le show devint
